NTRY Vertical Glass Fiber Fabric Impregnation Line

The vertical glass fiber fabric impregnation line provides continuous, high-precision automation for electronic-grade glass fiber fabrics, covering impregnation, drying, and cutting or rolling. Its vertical design allows resin to flow naturally by gravity, reducing pump system complexity, improving resin penetration, and ensuring uniform temperature control. This maintains optimal resin viscosity and enhances product quality and consistency.

The impregnated fabrics are widely used for phase insulation, winding, and layer insulation in electrical engineering, motors, and transformers. With insulation ratings up to H 180°C, they are suitable for high-temperature and demanding applications.

Product Description – Coating/Impregnation Machine

The coating/impregnation machine is a key piece of equipment in the production of glass fiber reinforced copper-clad laminates (CCL). It ensures uniform resin impregnation of substrates and precise drying, producing high-quality semi-cured sheets. The heat is usually provided by a waste gas incinerator, which safely treats volatile solvents generated during impregnation while recycling heat for the drying process, combining environmental protection with energy efficiency.

Depending on substrate type and production needs, the machine can be configured as vertical or horizontal:

  • Vertical Coating Machine: Designed for high-strength substrates like glass fiber fabric. Its vertical design allows heavy impregnated materials to move smoothly, ensuring even drying and minimizing contamination. It is the preferred choice for manufacturing FR-4 and FR-5 epoxy glass fiber laminates.
  • Horizontal Coating Machine: Ideal for lower-strength substrates such as paper. Using air-cushion drying, the substrate is suspended in hot air, preventing contact with rollers and maintaining product quality.

While each type has typical applications, process adjustments—such as changes in resin concentration and coating section design—allow flexibility, enabling horizontal machines to handle glass fiber fabrics and vertical machines to process paper substrates when needed.

Our machines are engineered for uniform resin distribution, precise drying, stable tension control, and reliable operation, meeting the demanding requirements of single-sided, double-sided, and multilayer PCB semi-cured sheets. Efficient, environmentally friendly, and highly automated, they are ideal for modern CCL production.

Oven Height, Fabric Specification, and Line Speed

The production speed of pre-impregnated glass fiber fabric (PP) depends on oven length and fabric type. Choosing the appropriate combination ensures uniform drying, proper curing, and high-quality semi-cured sheets.

Guidelines:

  • Longer ovens are required for heavier fabrics or higher line speeds.
  • Shorter ovens are suitable for lighter fabrics at lower speeds.
  • Using an oven that is too short for a given fabric and speed may compromise product quality.
